1. What ages and grade levels does OBEC serve?

We serve students in grades K–12, from emerging readers who need foundational support to middle school and high school students preparing for STAAR/EOC.

2. What programs do you offer?

We provide three levels of literacy instruction:

• Foundations (K–2) – phonics, fluency, decoding, high-frequency words, writing basics
• Bridge (3–5) – comprehension, vocabulary, STAAR strategies, writing
• Master (6–12) – close reading, nonfiction/fiction analysis, academic writing, STAAR/EOC prep

3. How are students placed into a program?

Every student receives a literacy skill evaluation so we can determine their reading level, strengths, and unfinished learning.
Students are placed based on skill, not grade—this ensures faster progress.

4. Do you offer virtual and in-person sessions?

Yes. Families may choose:

5. How often do students attend tutoring?

Most students attend 1–2 sessions per week, depending on their goals.
Students needing acceleration or STAAR/EOC prep may choose intensive packages.

Yes! Parents receive weekly updates on:

  • Skills taught

  • Strengths and next steps

  • Recommendations for home
